Registration is now open for Abraji's 20th International Congress of Investigative Journalism, the largest journalism summit in Brazil and one of the most important ones in Latin America. The event will take place from July 10 to 13 in São Paulo at ESPM's Álvaro Alvim campus. The first three days will be dedicated to the Congress and the 12th Research Seminar in Investigative Journalism. For the seventh year running, the schedule on Sunday (July 13) will be entirely focused around data journalism.
For the early bird tickets, prices range from R$160 to R$420 for the Congress, from R$50 to R$120 for Data Sunday and from R$210 to R$540 for the combo. Members get special prices. Check them out below.
In 2025, the Congress activities will take place in person at ESPM-SP, which has hosted the last two editions. The partnership between the two institutions is already part of the event's history, and not only does it have the ideal infrastructure to host the panels and workshops, but also the teams from the journalism and events departments and students who are willing to volunteer. There will be no pre-recorded or exclusively online activities, only broadcasts of some activities.
In order to celebrate the event's 20th anniversary, names previously celebrated at the Congress – renowned journalists who are part of this story – will be honored together.
Program and thematic tracks
As in the previous edition, the 20th Abraji Congress' activities will be organized into thematic tracks, which will act as guiding threads through the main topics to be covered at the event. The highlights in 2025 will be the tracks on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in journalism and on COP30 and the Environment (the United Nations Conference on Climate Change), which will be held in November in Belém.
The event's activities will be conducted by journalists, grassroots communicators, indigenous leaders, managers and representatives of non-profit organizations with experience in the areas of technology, environmental journalism, management and marketing, safety and protection of journalists, through workshops, round tables and exhibition panels. The full schedule will be published soon on Abraji's communication channels. See the already confirmed international guests in this article.
